- Aluxcor® zinc-aluminum alloys contain a cesium-fluoroaluminate (CsAlF) type flux in an internal core
- The core percentage and dimensions are calculated to deliver optimum flux release and braze joint protection during heating
- Post braze residue from this flux is non-corrosive, so removal is typically unnecessary
- Flux inner core means no manual flux application is required, providing significant cost savings
- Melting range of 710 deg F - 898 deg F (377 deg C - 481 deg C)
- Recommended joint clearance is 0.003 - 0.005 in. (0.076 - 0.127 mm)
- Typical applications include brazing aluminum alloys of the 1000, 3000 and 6000 series and joining aluminum-to-copper
- For dissimilar metal applications, consider the long-term galvanic corrosion potential as it may require a protective joint coating
- Complies with the EU Reach & RoHS directive
Aluxcor® zinc-aluminum flux-cored brazing alloy is designed for low temperature joining of aluminum base metals. Typical aluminum brazing alloys melt and flow very close to the base metal melting temperature. The zinc-aluminum alloy's lower operating temperatures reduce the possibility of overheating the aluminum part. Typical applications include joining aluminum alloys of the 1000, 3000 and 6000 series and joining aluminum-to-copper.
